Moments from the Valley

The wild horses of Nemiah Valley are an important part of the Xeni Gwet'in culture. Though the Xeni Gwet'in no longer use the horses for travel and survival, they still catch and train wild horses, often using them to compete in the annual mountain race. The mountain race is a tradition the Xeni Gwet'in have performed for years and resembles a wild horse chase, where they must literally ride down vertical mountains to capture the wild horses.
